Working for Apple across both the App Store, and the Podcast App. I have conceptualised, designed and directed over sixty stories that make up the editorial part of the App Store feed.
Whilst the canvas may be just the pixels on your iPhone, what we could do inside that was completely free! Engage some of the worlds best illustrators, tick! Design graphics that visualised complex strategy games, tick! Show Martin Lewis in his best light, tick!
The App Store is run very much editorially. A team of writers and art directors are constantly working to come up with beautiful visuals and engaging copy to encourage people to explore new apps.
I worked as part of the App Store team to conceptualise, direct, design and deliver over 80 stories that featured on the storefront. This included taking assets from content providers and showcasing them in the best of lights. Ideating concepts to accompany broader stories about dating apps, games, occasions, and newsworthy events. And working with a host of illustrators and 3D artists to direct and collaboratively deliver bright, modern and engaging visuals.
The Podcast app is going through some big changes, as part of my role I was able to define and develop some integral updates to the design system so that moving forward content providers are able to create and supply engaging visual that tell the audience about their content.
A six month stint with Apple working both in their studio and remotely to create a multitude of content for the App Store. Collaborating with a small, tight-knit UK team and feeding into the wider, global Apple eco-system.
